About
As a mother with children who have some special abilities, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to travel as a family. Our first family vacation was to Walt Disney World and I was a nervous wreck hoping and praying that this trip would be as wonderful as I had imagined. I spent countless hours scouring the internet on how to best accomplish my goal to have a great family vacation. I felt so alone getting bits of information from various websites to put together a plan to prepare everyone for what to expect.
The vacation turned out to be a huge success and inspired us to take many more vacations. Each destination that we chose, I researched thoroughly to make sure it would be a good fit for our family. Lucky for us, there were more hits than misses and my sons developed a love of travel just as strong as mine. They have broadened their cultural, intellectual, and spiritual education like I could never have imagined when we began our travel journey many years ago.
Flash forward to now. Becoming a Certified Autism Travel Specialist was an amazing opportunity. Having personally agonized over every detail while trying to plan travel for my family that would meet their needs, I knew right away that this was something I had to do. I was excited at the thought of being able to help other families with members who have autism to avoid the struggles I had.
It is a privilege and an honor to be able to work with families and give them an experience they will never forget. Vacation planning can be overwhelming for some as it is. I want to help alleviate the stress and fear so that everyone can have a great time.
